IDENTITY SYSTEMS & PRODUCTION EQUIPMENTS

Digital Identity

Digital identity (Digital ID) and security are crucial in today’s world, and at Mid Atlantic, we ensure that all your personal data is securely encrypted to the point of issuance and is kept safe thereafter.

As the world converges from physical to digital identity, there is a requirement to bridge the gap from traditional identity credentials to online authentication, authorization, and access rights.

Digital identity provides a simple yet efficient way to help citizens identify who they are without the need for physical documents. Digital identity harbors personal data, such as our age or nationality, either as a unique online credential or as an electronic representation of an existing physical identification such as a driver’s license.

Enabling individuals to securely access online services

Online authentication, identity, and eligibility solutions can increase security, ease of use, and accessibility to online services. They are central to efficiency and can improve an individual’s ability to operate securely in an increasingly digital world. They can be used to enable citizens to access critical activities such as healthcare, education, or the right to work.

Direct To Card Printers

Direct to card print technology enables issuers to print full color images directly onto the surface of a plastic card. Direct to card (DTC) printers selectively heat a dye-based ribbon, typically with yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C) and black (K) panels. These are pressed directly on to the card’s surface, thereby infusing the color into the plastic. It works best with cards made from regular PVC or composite cards with a PVC top layer.

Mid Atlantic provides thermal direct to card color printing either as a module in its central issuance systems or as a standalone desktop system.

Re-Transfer Card Printers

Retransfer printing technology enables the printing of sharp, vibrant color images on to a range of plastic surfaces including PVC, PC, ABS, PET and cards with embedded smart technologies (chip cards).

Retransfer printing, first made popular in photo booths, differs from direct to card printing by using an indirect method of transferring the image on to the card surface. Retransfer printers use two films, typically:

  • A color ribbon with dye-based yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C) and black (K) panels.
  • A transparent receiving film (retransfer film).

The printer selectively heats the color panels of the dye-based film and infuses the color into the surface of the transparent receiving film. Once the image is complete on the receiving film it is heat sealed onto the surface of the plastic card. By using a controlled substrate as the receiving film, high quality images can be produced and then transferred over the full surface of the plastic card. This process is ideal when using non-PVC cards and cards with irregular surfaces such as embedded smart chips.

Mid Atlantic range of desktop retransfer printers has been developed for specific security and output requirements and includes an extensive chromXpert® ribbon range and inline encoding, lamination and laser options.

Card Embossing Machine

Remember to use compelling visuals, and consider your target audience when crafting your advertisement. You may also want to adjust the design and content to fit your branding and unique selling points. Additionally, it’s essential to ensure your contact information is up to date, and you have a well-defined strategy for managing inquiries and potential customers.

Card Engraving Machine

Greyscale graphics and monochrome text are engraved directly into the surface of the card by using a high resolution laser beam. Cards are typically based on a polycarbonate (PC) substrate, but other plastics can also be used in certain circumstances.

Thanks to high resolution engraving (up to 1200 dpi) and integrated multiple card security options, Mid Atlantic’s laser engraving machines provide outstanding protection against counterfeiting and forgery. Offered in both desktop and high volume centralized formats. The laser engraving range can be combined with other card personalization technologies for a full card issuance solution.
